Center for Transformational Technologies :
“Over the next decade, waves of exponential technological advancements will eclipse decades of breakthroughs in scale and impact. Emerging from these waves are 20 Megatrends, likely to revolutionize entire industries (old and new) and redefine tomorrow’s generation of businesses and contemporary challenges and transform our augmented human urbanized cellular livelihoods from the bottom up. These Meta trends include longevity, the surging smart economy, AI-human collaboration, agriculture, and high-bandwidth brain-computer interfaces.”
(Peter Diamandis, Founderof X Prize and SingularityUniversity).
The impact of a wide array of exponential technologies like AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, Quantum Computing, 3 D Printing, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, VR/AR, Metaverse, Blockchain, 5 G etc is disrupting and transforming not only businesses, but every walk of life including governance and society. Strong ethics and systems are essential to prevent a dystopian future for homo sapiens. Governments and regulators have to be totally aware and conscious of likely future scenarios, and set up effective policy, legal and regulatory frameworks, in collaboration with experts, academia, industry and other stakeholders, to ensure societal awareness of issues, as also effective action for guiding technology in the right direction. They also need to adopt and embed these technologies in their systems at the earliest.
The Centre for Transformational Technologies is focused on creating a knowledge bank of exponential technologies and their convergence/ stacking. It also uses Technology Foresight for developing possible positive and negative future scenarios, and takes up active advocacy initiatives for spreading awareness. It works closely with governments and industry for this purpose; and provides assistance for selection & adoption of the most suitable technologies.
